Private residential garden design - Buckinghamshire

A design solution for a difficult sloped site, creating space for outdoor living

Sited on a hill there was practically no useable space allocated to the rear of the property, rather the slope had been split into a few awkward terraces in a historic landscaping scheme that had seen it's day.

Our design pushed the slope back to create a wide south facing patio whilst a wide set of central steps offers a view from the french windows of the living area up to a magnificent Dawn Redwood, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, uplit at night.  As well as creating useable space this makes the house feel more open to the garden from inside.

A dry stone wall of Yorkstone was handcrafted fronting a structural wall to great effect and complimenting a the new sandstone paving.

The new planting was in keeping with the extended garden to provide a sense of unity.
